Airbnb is an online service to connect travelers with hosts that own property for vacation rentals. Looking to head to the Colorado Rockies for a weekend of skiing? Perhaps there is someone who owns a home in Vail that will be out of town that weekend, and would like to rent his/her home out for the weekend. Airbnb can connect the two – allowing the “host” to rent his/her place out to the “guest” for a fee. Users and hosts both must register and create a profile via the app or the website, and a rating system allows users and hosts to check the other’s reputations to make sure their transaction is trustworthy. The app itself is well designed, both from an aesthetic and functional standpoint. Browsing and searching through locations is easy, and booking a location is a snap – even on short notice. Even listing locations is simple and painless on the app. Airbnb is a wonderful service and app for travelers and hosts alike – definitely worth a download.
